BLAC® Inc. is a multimedia company and luxury brand, providing news, features, and content through our city-focused, local websites for Detroit, Memphis, and Atlanta. BLAC, Inc. also produces the monthly magazine BLACⓇ Life Arts & Culture for the Detroit market.

For over 20 years, BLAC Detroit has represented the many diverse and brilliant voices of Detroit’s Black community, shining a light on the people, places, issues and events that matter most to us. We are excited to share our commitment to bring Black life, arts, and culture to the Black audiences in high-profile, affluent African-American markets, including Atlanta and Memphis. BLAC is inclusive of all of our voices, striving to have engaging, informative, sometimes difficult and sometimes transformative conversations that are the catalyst for change.

Founded in 1999 as African American Parent, the magazine’s name was soon changed to African American Family. During our 10th anniversary year, the publication was renamed BLAC (an acronym for Black Life, Arts & Culture) to more accurately reflect our content and mission.
